At least 13 people have been rescued after a two-storey building collapsed on Monday morning in the Oyingbo area of Lagos State, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The structure, located at 49 Coates Street by Cemetery, off Oyingbo Road, reportedly caved in around 9 a.m.

In a statement, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed it received distress alerts and immediately deployed its Lagos Operations team while mobilising other emergency responders to the site.

Officials said all rescued victims have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ebute Metta, for treatment.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and residents have been urged to remain calm and cooperate with emergency personnel as efforts continue.
