President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received Denmark’s richest man, Anders Holch Povlsen, the Chief Executive Officer of Bestseller and Chairman of the Bestseller Foundation, at the State House, Abuja.
Povlsen’s engagement with President Tinubu was made known on the official X handle of the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, @aonanuga1956.
Povlsen, who was accompanied by the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens Bach Hansen, and others, met with President Tinubu in a closed-door meeting along with Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, amongst other top government officials.
The Bestseller Foundation, a private philanthropic foundation funded by Danish company Bestseller A/S, drives social and environmental impact, especially in West Africa, and also in communities close to Bestseller’s value chain.
The Foundation emphasises entrepreneurship and supports entrepreneurs and ventures that generate social and financial returns.
The visiting delegation was received by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, before proceeding to meet with the President.
The Danish Bestseller CEO’s visit to President Tinubu is viewed as part of the administration’s broader drive to deepen economic relations between Nigeria and Denmark and attract increased foreign investment into the country.
