NDLEA Arrests Pretty Mike, Ex-BBNaija Star Tuoyo, Over Alleged Drug Party in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, better known as Pretty Mike, alongside former Big Brother Naija housemate Tuoyo Ideh and over 100 others during a midnight raid on Proxy Nightclub in Victoria Island.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the operation was based on intelligence reports that the club was hosting a drug-related party. Officers reportedly arrived at the location around 11 p.m. on Saturday and moved in at about 3 a.m. on Sunday.

During the operation, the agency said several cartons of banned substances, including Loud (a potent form of cannabis) and nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, were recovered from the venue.

Babafemi noted that all arrested individuals, including the club owner, were taken to the NDLEA headquarters for questioning.

Tuoyo confirmed the arrest on Instagram, expressing frustration over being detained despite not committing any offense. He said attendees were forced to sit on the floor for hours after being rounded up by armed officers.

Efforts to reach Pretty Mike for comments were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls or messages.

In a separate operation, NDLEA officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, seized 70 parcels of cocaine weighing 3.6 kilograms, hidden in cocoa butter containers and bound for London. Three suspects, including a travel agent and a healthcare worker, were later arrested.

Similar crackdowns were carried out in Enugu, Kwara, Kogi, Taraba, and other states, where several suspects were arrested with drugs such as tramadol, skunk, and methamphetamine.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), commended officers across various commands for their efforts and urged them to sustain the momentum in the agency’s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign.

He emphasized that the NDLEA would continue its nationwide drive to dismantle drug networks and curb substance abuse in Nigeria.
