A raging fire, on Tuesday, razed not less than 30 temporary shelters where small-time rubber recyclers operated at Bompai, Nassarwa Local Government Area, Kano State.

The spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident, said the Service received a distress call at about 3:30am about a fire incident.

According a statement, issued by Abdullahi, not less than 30 temporary shops measuring 1,000 feet by 1,000 feet, used as rubber recycling area were completely razed, adding that the cause of the fire was still unknown.

However, he disclosed that the quick intervention of the fire service men saved the grinding machines used for melting rubber from being totally consumed by the raging fire.
